The Assessment & Treatment of Trauma

Individuals who experience single or ongoing episodes of stressful, abusive and/or traumatic life experiences can develop a number of emotional and behavioral problems that are often confusing and overwhelming to the individual and their family members alike.  Trauma assessments are designed to evaluate the nature and impact of traumatic life events on a person's functioning and make recommendations for recovery.

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an empirically supported treatment model used to help adults and children overcome trauma related to abuse, violence and grief and is a primary treatment approach used by staff clinicians.  Treatment goals are focused on resolving PTSD, depressive and anxiety related symptoms, while optimizing coping skills and adaptive functioning, enhancing personal safety and developing healthy relationships with others.
